Expat wives or else "Should I stay or should I go" ? Should I stay in my country with my kids BUT without my husband or should I go-follow my husband living my career and support the family ? No matter if those are selfish or objective worries, we have to admit that those are real issues to be faced under the pressure of an expatriation. The fear of the unknown and the uncertainty can easily create lockjaw in an already strained atmosphere. Evaluating pros & cons without selfish background would ease the situation for all the family. Supporting their families in this transition period for all is the most important and difficult part of the expatriation. Women should not feel that they won't anymore contribute to their families or that they will lack their professional capability. Of course there are too many examples of women not being able to catch up their careers anymore or husbands that have forgotten their wives' contribution. But, in the end, this is a matter of balance and inner perspective, self-confidence and priorities.
